Obituary of Marion Edith Robson
Marion Edith, beloved wife of George Robson of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at the age of 87 years.
Marion was born in Saskatchewan, but was raised in Brandon, MB, where she attended school. As a young woman she moved to Brock, SK to live with her sister Pearl “Mickey” and her husband Dr. Bill Black. It was in Brock that Marion met her husband George. They were married in September 1940. George’s involvement in the Airforce brought them to be stationed in Winnipeg, MB and later Grand Prairie, AB. Upon George’s discharge they settled in Brock, SK, where they resided until August 2003. The last few years Marion and George have enjoyed life at the Renoir Lodge in Calgary, and have made numerous new friends.
Besides her loving husband George, Marion is remembered by her children, Myfanwy “Robbi” (Gerry Martini), of Calgary, Marilyn (Bert Gray) of Brock, SK, Joan Waddell of Red Deer, AB, Arlene (Lorne Staples) Kindersley, SK, Brent (Lorna) Robson of Camrose, AB, Deirdre (Carey Hay) of Red Deer, AB; seventeen grandchildren, Michele (Neil Braithwaite), Kelly (Jerry Holyoak), Pam (John Wack), Nicole Crawford, Tanya Waddell, Angela Gray, Randy Waddell, Steven Robson, Ryan Staples, Reece Gray, Karie Robson, Jamie Hay, Duane Hay, Malorie Staples, Megan Hay, Morgan Hay, Carly Staples; six great-grandchildren, Dawn (Weston Pring), Dawson Wack, Kendra Wack, Chandler Holyoak, Zoe Holyoak, Abrianna Waddell; as well as one great-great-grandchild Kaydan Pring. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Nora Hutchinson, Northumberland, England; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends. Marion was predeceased by her brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at Brock Community Centre (Brock, SK), ON Monday, March 20, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at the Brock Cemetery.
