Obituary of Agatha Palin

Agatha Ann Palin passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 14, 2006 after a difficult battle with cancer. Agatha was born and raised near Cupar, SK. and fondly recalled the many good and hard times that she and her family had on the farm. After graduating high school, Agatha left the family farm to attend Teacher?s College in Regina, where she obtained her education degree. After graduation, Agatha moved to Montreal to begin her teaching career. She returned to teach in Mildred, SK. and then in Coleville, SK. where she met and then married Don on July 10, 1951 at St. Joseph?s Church in Saskatoon. Although Agatha retired from teaching to raise her children and work as a farm wife, she made a lasting impression on her fellow teachers and students, many of whom continued to keep in touch with her until her death. Agatha and her family moved to Saskatoon in 1958 where they spent the winter months and continued to farm near Coleville during the summers. Agatha moved to Calgary in 2000 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Agatha had many pleasures and passions in life, including her faith. She was a founding member of the CWL in Coleville, a CWL member for over sixty years and a member of the Missionary Association of Mary Immaculate. Through her life and illness, her faith in our Lord Jesus Christ was always steadfast and unwavering. Agatha also loved to travel and spent many winters in Florida and recently in Victoria. She loved to paint and her works of art hang proudly in the homes of her family and friends. Agatha had an amazing ability to make friends wherever she traveled and kept those friends over the years, but her pride and joy was her family and she especially enjoyed the many family get togethers with her children and grandchildren who she loved with all her heart. Agatha will be sadly missed and is survived by her sister Rose Santa, her daughters Marian Palin (Jim Seright) and June Graham (Jack); sons Donald, Dale and Joseph (Rina); niece Joan Simon-Worobec (Bob); grandchildren Janel Seright, Caitlin, Jaimie and Stephen Graham, Alexander, Benjamin and Nicholas Palin; great nieces Theresa and Hillary Worobec as well as many other nieces and nephews. Agatha was predeceased by her husband Don, her sisters Theresa Simon and Vera Kozan and her brother George Daradics. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY?S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter?s Catholic Church (541 Silvergrove Drive N.W.) on Friday, March 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev Bill Corcoran, Presider.
