Obituary of Many Guns

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather Terry Joseph Many Guns on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at the age of 60 years. Terry was born on November 16, 1945 at the Blackfoot Hospital (Siksika Nation, AB). Terry was educated at Crowfoot Residential School and later attended Mount Royal College for upgrading and Business Administration. He also took first year mechanics at SAIT. Terry was employed with Preventative Services (1970’s), Blackfoot Bussing Co-op, Gray’s Excavating and Elder’s Lodge (Security). He coached and managed Siksika Totem Basketball and Siksika Rebels Fastball Club. He made his cursillo in Hobbema, October, 1987 and his theme song was “Lord, help me”. Terry is survived by his common-law wife Debbie Pederson; his loving children, Sonia (Leslie), Anita (Jason), Tara (Tracy), Raylene (James), Truman (Kerrie), Sheena (Kym); adopted son Ethan; and step-daughter Bethany. He is also survived by his sisters, Angeline, Roslyn, Ann Marie (Leonard), Priscilla, Harvina (Rudy), and Jaylene (Randy); brothers, Adrian (Elizabeth) Big Old Man, Gary, Wayne (Trina) Turning Robe, Rex, and Clayton (Joan); twenty-three grandchildren; a great-grandchild on the way; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Phil and Ada Many Guns; brothers, Wayne and Roger Many Guns; and numerous nieces and nephews Wake Services will be held at Gordon Yellow Fly Memorial Arbour (Siksika Nation, AB) on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (Siksika Nation, AB) on Friday, March 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Ian GagnÚ, Presider. Graveside Service to follow at Little Chicago Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB). Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
