Obituary of Alan Elmer Clayton
With sadness, the family regrets to announce the passing of Alan Clayton on Saturday March 11, 2006 at the age of 89 years.
Alan was born in Airdrie on November 29, 1916. After serving in the R.C.A.F. during World War II, he and Kitty enjoyed farming in the Airdrie area for twenty years. In 1966, they moved to Calgary where he worked with the Calgary Public School Board. After retirement, Alan and Kitty enjoyed many years of cross country skiing, hiking, golf, camping, traveling and friendship with the Second Sixties Group.
Alan will be lovingly remembered by daughters Janet (Al) de Laforest, of Red Deer; Pauline (Terry) Barrows, of Calgary; son Ken (Yvette) Clayton of Fort Saskatchewan and sister-in-law Joyce Clayton, of Nanaimo, B.C. He will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren, David and Randy Peacock, Krista Carmichael, Ryan Barrows, Brad and Darren Clayton, as well as great grandchildren Derek, Kolin, Lucas, Anika and Paige.
Alan was predeceased by his beloved wife Kitty, brother Ben, sister Ruth, and his parents Inez and Ernest Clayton.
The family would like to thank the staff of Bow View Manor Nursing Home for the loving care Alan received in the last years of his life.
