Obituary of Charlie Clarke

Charlie Clarke, beloved husband of Lorene of Calgary, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2006 at the age of 78 years. Charlie was born in Fernie, B.C., to Abe and Ada Clarke. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Winnie. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Charlie will be dearly missed. Besides his loving wife, Charlie is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law Melodie Anne and Graham Parkes of Vancouver; son and daughter-in-law Brad and Gloria Clarke of Calgary; step-children Randy and Becky Halsted of Calgary, Ross and Gwen Halsted of Okotoks, Shelley and Kelly Bixby of Nanaimo, Dale and Marla Halsted of Calgary; fifteen grandchildren Jason, Derek, Juston, Jonathan, Chase, Ciara, Breanne, Tyler, Kyle, Nicole, Kevin, Brittany, Tiffany, Andrew, Matthew. Charlie had a passion for skiing and baseball. In 1950 he trained as a professional umpire at Steamboat Johnson’s Umpire School in Florida. A knee injury ended his baseball career and Charlie started a long and successful ‘second’ career in sales. He joined Fuller Brush and moved to Electrolux where he stayed until his ‘rumoured’ retirement from his Sales Management position in 2000. A Celebration of Charlie’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
