Anne Kraft

Obituary of Anne Kraft

Anne Kraft, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away suddenly in Anaheim, SK on Friday, March 10, 2006 at the age of 85 years. She was having a wonderful holiday in Saskatchewan, visiting with family. Anne was born on November 18, 1920 in Humboldt, SK. She grew up on the family farm in Humboldt, the third child of eleven children. She was very active all through her life. In her early twenties she traveled to Ontario and worked in the hospitals there as a nurses aid. On a vacation to visit her sister Mary in Alberta, she met Frank Kraft and they were married a few years later on June 30, 1951. Mom and Dad lived in Calgary and had five children who kept them very busy. Mom had a great sense of humour and a generous heart. She would say “There is always room for one more”. Her children were her pride and joy, and her nine grandchildren were her greatest pleasure. She loved baking cookies for them. There wasn’t a crossword puzzle she couldn’t finish or a game of scrabble she didn’t win. Anne was a very talented seamstress and loved to sew clothes and making items for the Church Bazaar. She was an active member of the CWL for fifty-two years. It didn’t matter whether she was selling Grey Cup tickets, making sandwiches for “Inn from the Cold”, helping deliver Meals on Wheels, ushering at Sunday Mass, she was always willing to help. Mom was a mother to all. Anne is lovingly remembered by her four daughters and son, Sharon (Brian) Sather, Carolyn (Bill) Sucha, Brian (AndrÚe) Kraft, Colette Kraft, Bernadette Mason; her grandchildren, Dale and Mark Sather, David and Steven Sucha, Michael, Nicole and Kimberley Kraft (and their mother Margo Kraft); and Ian and Breanne Mason; her sisters and brothers, Agnus (Herb) Hilgers, Bert (Sylvia) Thiemann, Ed Thiemann (Nora Klashinsky), Joan (Ron) Schreiner, Margie (Clarence) Knaus; sisters-in-law, Mona Thiemann and Bella Thiemann; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Anne was predeceased by her loving husband Frank; her parents Paul and Clara Thiemann; her sisters, Rose Zimmerman, Mary Ell, Betty Kuemper; her brothers, Ben Thiemann and Joe Thiemann; her brothers-in-law, Tony Zimmerman, Tony Ell, and Gilbert Kuemper.
