Obituary of Muriel Deines

Muriel (Barnes) Deines passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at the age of 89 years. Muriel was born in Calgary to Elliot and Janet (Jennie) Barnes. She had older brothers, Elliot Jr., Robert and Findlay. Muriel took her schooling in Calgary at South Calgary and Central Memorial Schools. She trained as a nurse at the Calgary General Hospital, graduating in 1940. She worked in Calgary and at the Charles Camsell Hospital in Edmonton. She married Clarence in 1942 and they resided at various localities throughout Alberta, settling in Calgary in 1958. Muriel is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Murray and Velma Deines of Nanaimo BC, daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Patrick Cummins of Sundre, AB, grandsons, David and Michael Deines of Vancouver, BC, and Steven Cummins of Calgary, AB, and granddaughter Sara and husband Travis Finlayson of Vermilion, AB. Muriel was predeceased by her husband Clarence in 2005.
