Obituary of Amos Axe

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Amos Conrad Axe, of the Siksika Nation, AB on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at the age of 24 years old. Amos passed away on the Morley Reserve, AB. Amos was the beloved husband of Toni Kaquitts and father of his son, Keyaren of the Morley Reserve, AB. Amos Conrad Axe was born on October 18,1981 in Bassano, AB. His parents are Jenny Axe, step-father Donnie White Eagle and father, Amos Fox. Amos had a deep love for his son Keyaren and for his family and friends. At an early age he was taught the cultural customs, values and traditions of the Siksika Nation. He had a passion for horses and horse-back riding. He also enjoyed playing baseball, hunting and fishing with family and friends. Amos attended Arrowwood School and the Siksika Crowfoot School. Besides his loving wife Toni and son Keyaren, Amos is survived by brothers Shawn and Vernon Axe, Jody and Darcy Starlight of Sarcee Nation; sister Amy Hunter of Morley and nephew Isiah; grandmother Priscilla Axe; great-uncle Edward Turning Robe; great aunts, Ruby Doore, Ruth Majoros, Evelyn Weasel Head, Susan Strangling Wolf, Connie Rabbit Carrier, Elizabeth Scout, Geraldine Medicine Shield and Donna Raweater. He also leaves to mourn his adopted parents, Floyd and Michelle Beaver of Morley, AB; adopted sisters, Ora (Marcel), Jeanette, Caroline and Felicia Holloway, Vairlynn and Dreyanna Beaver; adopted brothers, Kirby and Sylvester Beaver; aunts and uncles, Edwin (Belinda), Barbara (Freddy) Holloway, Francine, Francis, Roanna, Randall (Sharon), Donna (Gerald), Jordon (Charlene), Trudy (Dennis Jr.), Bobby Axe, Ronald (Sally) Fox, Alfred, Derek Fox, Regina Simon, Joanne (Chucky) Yellow Horse, Joyce Fox; great grand-father, Clarence Rusty Big Eye, Jim (Joan) Munro, Gregory and Rory Big Eye, Maurice and Gildas Storm, Julianna Burke, Theresa (Ronnie) Big Eye, Jaqueline, Adeline and Layanna Storm, Beatrice and Marie Big Eye, Clifford (Annie) Big Eye and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Jacob Conrad Axe-Kaquitts on March 20, 2005; brother Donnie White Eagle Jr.; Jonas Holloway; uncles, Robert and Andy Axe, Wayne (Cowboy) Many Guns; great-grandparents Francis and Jessie Axe, Annie Fox, Ada Breaker, Beatrice Turning Robe, Frank Turning Robe Sr. and great, great grand-father Edward Little Axe Wake Services will be held today, March 9, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the residence of Toni Kaquitts, Morley Reserve, AB and Friday, March 10, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at the residence of Jenny Axe, Siksika Nation, AB. A Celebration of Amos’s Life will be held at the Siksika Community Centre on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at the Little Chicago Cemetery (Siksika Nation, AB.)
