Obituary of Catherine Druhall

Catherine Druhall, of Calgary, beloved wife of John, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Catherine was inspirational in her determination and dedication to those she loved. She treated people with loving kindness. Her courageous devotion to her husband John continued through her fight with cancer, and she visited John at his nursing home almost every day, until she could no longer walk. Catherine was born in Battleford, SK on November 25, 1930. She worked as a practical nurse at several hospitals for many years. Catherine also did volunteer work with organizations like Interfaith for many years. She was a long-standing member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church with the CWL for twenty-five years. Mom was a member of the Third Order of Franciscans and also the a member of the small Christian Communities at St. Luke’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed hiking, painting and camping. She was an artist who created many pastoral paintings that are enjoyed by her family. Catherine is survived by her husband John; her son Larry; and her granddaughter Brenda; as well as several brothers and sisters and other relatives and close friends. Catherine was predeceased by her son Ron in 1996. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church (Corner of Northmount Drive & Northland Drive N.W.) on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Avinash Colaco, Presider. Graveside Service to follow in “St. Joseph’s Section” at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
