Obituary of Darlene Parcels
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darlene Parcels (Rougeau) on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. She will be dearly missed by Blair, her loving husband of 20 years, daughter Lisa (Joseph) Hoffmann, son Sean, her mother Cecile, sisters Pam Shiels, Jean O’Brien (Rick White), Julie (William) Halpin, numerous nieces and nephews and loving in-laws. She was predeceased by her father Raymond on September 7, 1999.
On September 6, 1953, Darlene was born in St. Boniface, MB. She relocated to Calgary in 1981 with Xerox whom she was employed with for the past 28 years. In her leisure time she enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, Aruba and most recently, Cuba. She had a great passion for playing bingo, the occasional evening at the casino and shopping for a great bargain. Her zest for life, infectious laughter and quick wit will be sorely missed and ever remembered by those whose lives she touched.
The family would like to thank Dr. Temple, Dr. Easaw and all the wonderful nursing staff at the Foothills Hospital and Special Services for the excellent care given to Darlene.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Mcinnis & Holloway’s Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, March 5, 2006 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00.
Celebration of Darlene’s Life will he held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, March 6, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow in Queen’s Park Cemetery.
