Obituary of Richard William Nadeau

Kelly Nadeau passed away in Vancouver, BC on Monday, February 27, 2006 at the age of 45 years. Kelly was born at Calgary on June 26, 1960. As the youngest sibling, Kelly was often favoured by all who knew him, especially his late grandmother Mabel and his auntie Helen, who cared for him as an infant along with his other siblings. After spending most of his childhood life away from his natural family, Kelly returned to Tsuu T’ina for a short while during his teenage years. United with family and friends but still searching for a life of his own, he decided to travel to other places, do other things and meet other people. His travels ended in Vancouver, where he resided for much of two decades. During his last visit to Tsuu T’ina he enjoyed the powwow, visited with his friends and family, and attended a traditional ceremony. Kelly enjoyed music, played guitar and enjoyed people who had the same interests. He will be remembered by many people for his generosity, kindness, his sense of humour, and his smile. He was deeply loved by all who knew him and he will be forever missed. He is survived by his sisters, Janice, Patricia (Roger) and Pearl; nephews, Clifford, Sheldon, Lambert, Cody, and Colton; nieces, Jenny, Terry-Lynn and Ashley; and special family friend Marie Pollin. Kelly’s extended family members at Tsuu T’ina include Helen Meguinis, Angeline Dodginghorse, Katie Dodginghorse, Ruth Starlight, and Clifford Big Plume; as well as Melvin Nadeau of Hobbema, AB and Jeanne Nadeau and family of Calgary. Kelly was predeceased by his parents Henry Dodginghorse and Agnes Nadeau; his grandparents, Anthony and Mabel Dodginghorse, Maggie Crowchief, Annie and Frank Nadeau; a sister Marlene; his baby niece; uncles, Robert and Ronald Dodginghorse, William and Douglas Crowchief, Richard and Patrick Nadeau; and aunt Peggy Nadeau. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Sunday, March 5, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 – 24th Street S.W.) on Monday, March 6, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev.
