Obituary of Clinton Moore

Clinton Moore of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2006 at the age of 84 years, and is reunited with his beloved wife Ann (1995). Clint was born on June 1, 1921 in Tees, AB, into a farming family. Clint lived and worked most of his life in Alberta, going away only to fight in World War II where he met his loving Scottish war bride, Ann. Clint was involved in engineering throughout his lifetime, including his service in the war. In 1964 he was awarded his First Class Power Engineer Certification. He was involved in the building of the Foothills Hospital and become one of the personal in charge of the Engineering Department. He believed in education and was always eager to learn and continually upgrade himself through his career. He encouraged others to procure education. He was a pioneer in computers, enjoying them greatly, and becoming proficient at programming them. He set up operational programs for the City of Edmonton, Edmonton Power and Alberta Hospital. He believed in giving back and was always willing to help others learn about computers. He gave of his time and energy to many associations and charities including, Calgary Senior Citizens Council, Save the General Society, The Alzheimer’s Society, and Meals on Wheels. Clint lived a wonderful, fulfilling life. He touched many around him. He will be sadly missed. He is survived by four daughters and two sons, Pamela, Dianne, Eilleen, Darlene, Kenneth and Gary as well as eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
