Obituary of Graydon Carl Zapfe

Graydon Carl Zapfe, beloved husband of Julia Zapfe of Calgary passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the age of 87 years. Graydon spent four years overseas serving with the air force during World War II. and since then he became an avid gold panner. Besides his loving wife Julia, Graydon is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Pat Zapfe, Linda and Amr Kandil and Susan and Allan Sherlock, all of Calgary; five grandchildren, Karene Irwin and her husband Randy Killaby, Jesse Irwin, Brent and his wife Christie Hagel, Robin Hagel and Stacy Sherlock; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Irwin, Jaedyn Irwin, Abby Hagel and Grady Hagel. He is also survived by his sister Arlene and her husband Ted George, his cousin Blanche Leech and his son-in-law Keith Hagel. He was predeceased by his daughter Reni Hagel in 1980 and his granddaughter Casey Irwin in1991. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Sunday, February 26, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, February 27, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow in Edenbrook Memorial Gardens.
