Obituary of James Kennedy

James (Jim) Kennedy Sr. passed away in Cochrane on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the age of 87 years. Jim was born in Stonehouse, Scotland on September 21, 1918, served in the Scottish Rifles during World War II, and later immigrated to Canada in 1956. In 1957, his wife and son joined him. Jim worked for the CPR Alyth Shops for several years and then the Calgary Public School Board as a custodian. He enjoyed puttering on all his vehicles and had the good fortune of many years of camping and R.V.’ing with his late wife Mina. While the last few years of his life brought a steady decline in his health, Jim maintained his great sense of humour. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his son Jim Jr.; daughter-in-law Marcia (Marcy); and relatives and friends in Canada, Scotland, England, and the U.S. Jim was predeceased by his wife Williamina (Mina) Kennedy on May 4, 1999.
