Obituary of John P. Motherwell

John P. Motherwell, beloved husband of Dorothy Motherwell of Calgary passed away on Monday, February 20, 2006 at the age of 84 years. John was born in Calgary, but graduated from Shawnigan Lake School on Vancouver Island. He later attended Kings College in Halifax, and then served in Great Britain with the Royal Navy Coastal Forces during WWII, retiring from active duty as Lieutenant Commander. Upon returning from overseas, he built and operated Power Electric & Equipment Company Ltd. until his retirement. He also remained an active member of the Naval Officers’ Association. Besides his loving wife, he is also survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, William of Houston, TX and Robert and Kathy of Calgary; a daughter and son-in-law Betty-Anne and Harold Hansen of Langley, B.C.; and four grandchildren, Kiersten and Colby Hansen, and Lauren and Connor Motherwell. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, February 24, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Donald C. MacMahon officiating.
