Obituary of Bella Glazer

Bella Glazer of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Chinook Care Centre on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at the age of 91 years. Bella was the devoted wife of the late Morris Glazer; dear mother of Lynda Snider of Calgary; Sheldon and his wife Gillian Glazer of Toronto; Allen and his wife Karen Glazer of Vancouver, and Brenda and her husband Hart Searle of Calgary; as well as five beloved grandchildren, Lisa Snider, Harvey Glazer, Suzanne Bruce, Michael Searle and Andrea Searle; and two great-grandchildren, Rylee and Max. Her husband, children and grandchildren were her constant source of pride and happiness. A devoted homemaker, Bella’s loving and generous spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to thank Susan Haberer for her care, love and devotion – Bella thought of her as a fifth child. We also would like to thank Sharon Batshaw for her many Saturday visits. Bella was a favourite of the nurses and staff on Belair ward at the Chinook Care Centre. Our heartfelt thanks go out to them all. And in Bella’s words “she had a good time and she left.” Funeral Services were held at the Beth Tzedec Synagogue (1325 Glenmore Trail S.W.) on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Interment followed at the Jewish Cemetery (30th Avenue & Erlton Street S.W.). Flowers gratefully declined, if friends so desire memorial tributes may be made directly to the Jewish Family Service.
