Obituary of Rose Rita Hallis

Rose Hallis passed away peacefully with her family and beloved Maridol by her side on Monday, February 13, 2006 at the age of 99 years. “Bubby” will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Pam and Murray Robins of Calgary and David and Sheri Hallis of Del Mar, CA; her grandchildren, Jerry and Michelle of Vancouver, BC, Esther and Jim of Calgary, Dana and Nate of Boston, MA, and Erin of Los Angeles, CA; her great-grandchildren, Allison, Matthew, Joshua, and Samantha; and her sisters, Mary Bates of Los Angeles and Frances Shiffman of Skokie, IL. She was greatly loved and respected by Murray’s children and grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Rose was predeceased by her husband Sam Hallis; an infant daughter Donna; brothers, Meyer, Isaac and Hymie; and sisters, Minnie, Anne and Esther. Rose will be remembered fondly by her many business friends and associates in Ladies’ Wear throughout Western Canada. Funeral services will be held at the new Chevra Kadisha (Northeast Corner of Highway 22X and 37 Street S.W.) on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Internment will follow at the Jewish Cemetery (30th Ave & Erlton Street S.W.). If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice. The family would like to thank the caring staff at the Renoir and all the staff on Unit 100 at the Beverly Centre for the love and wonderful care given to Bubby over the last year.
