Obituary of Ida Virginia Hill
Ida Virgina Hill of Calgary, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2006.
Ida was born in Winnipeg, MB. Her husband David Murray was an engineer with the C.P.R. They settled in Calgary where Ida remained the rest of her life. She was widowed in 1935 at the height of the depression, with four young boys to raise on her own. She became the “Matriarch” of the family.
She is survived by her son Richard (Lorna) Murray; six grandchildren, Suzzane Murray of Calgary, Carol of Calgary, Wendy (Rick) Anderson, David Murray, Don (Liana) Murray of St. Albert, AB, Sandy (Jim) Karr of Jupiter, FL; many great-grandchildren, Nicole, Sterling, Erin, Sarah, Megan, Katherine, Laura, Alexandra, Emilie, and Jackson. She was predeceased by her second husband Jim Hill; three sons Lloyd, Doug, and Gordie Murray.
