Obituary of Arthur Mark Turner

Arthur Mark Turner of Calgary passed away Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the Rockyview General Hospital after a brief illness at the age of 80 years. Mark was born June 2, 1925 in St. Thomas, Ontario, the only son of Arthur and Lila Turner. He served in the Infantry as Gunner A. M. Turner (107546) overseas in WWII during 1944-1945. He completed his education at the University of Western Ontario graduating in 1950 with a BSc. in Honours Geology. Mark worked for major and private oil companies in Canada, United States as well as internationally. He was a life member of APEGGA and The Society of Exploration Geophysicists. Mark will be remembered for his significant contribution to the oil industry. Mark was a great fan of jazz and an avid fly fisherman as well as an original member of the Hook and Hackle Club of Calgary. Mark is survived by his long time partner and best friend Loise Turner; his daughter Karen Turner of Edmonton; his sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Sharon of Riondel, BC, and Randy and Maureen of Vancouver, BC; as well as his four grandchildren, Carissa, Matthew, Kristi, and Stefanie Turner.
