Obituary of Anna Vesso

Anna Vesso of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the age of 81 years. At an early age Anna immigrated from Hungary to Canada with her mother and sister to join her father in the Bieseker district. She met her husband Joseph while serving with the Canadian Women’s Army Corp in Suffield. Following the War, Anna and Joe settled in Medicine Hat where they raised their four children. Anna’s family was of the utmost importance to her and she was very proud of all their accomplishments. She was a talented quilt maker, had a passion for baking and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and dancing. Anna will be missed by her two sons, John Vesso of Calgary, James (Cheryl) Vesso of Edmonton and daughter Margaret Brown (Peter Kamminga) of Calgary; four grandchildren, Stephen, Kevin, David and Sarah and one great- grandchild, Dylan. Anna is also survived by her brother John (Kaye) Albert and sisters Theresa Brent and Margaret Askenchuk, all of Calgary. She was predeceased by her loving companion of twenty years, Alf Compeau and her son, Allan Vesso.
