Obituary of Ralph Shillam

Ralph Shillam of Calgary passed away at home in the arms of Margaret, his beloved wife of fifty-seven years, on Sunday, February 5, 2006 at the age of 87 years. He is lovingly remembered by Margaret and their children, Ann (Dennis) Stoesz, Dan (Annette) Shillam, Susan (Rick) Sutcliffe, Nancy (Barry) Mah as well as eight adoring grandchildren and six precious great grandchildren. Ralph is also survived by his sisters Blanche and Pat; his sister-in-law Sally Ager; Margaret’s family and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret’s parents, as well as his brother Jack and sister Mary. Ralph proudly served his country in WWII with the Canadian Forestry Corps and the Royal Canadian Engineers. Upon discharge in Calgary, Ralph was self employed until his retirement in 1986. Ralph enjoyed his retirement years, actively involved in the Thornview Seniors, Second Sixties Outdoor Club, Alexander of Tunis Unit II of the Army, Navy and Airforce Veterans as well as time with a wonderful circle of friends at Tall Timbers campground. We would like to thank all those who provided wonderful care and support to Dad and our family.
