Obituary of Clifford James Sorenson

Clifford James Sorenson, beloved husband of Gwendolyn Marie of fifty-three years who was at his side as she has been everyday for the last month of his life, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 30, 2006 after a twelve year battle with cancer at the age of 76 years. Clifford was born on November 14, 1929 in Avonlea, SK. He spent his life in Western Canada where work took him to locations throughout the Prairie Provinces. He met and married his wife Gwen in Regina, SK and they shared a most wonderful fifty-three years together while raising their five children. Cliff loved to curl, golf, and tinker with things in the garage or spend quiet time doing jigsaw puzzles. All of his life he had a special love of animals from his horse Star to his many pet dogs. He rarely missed a good baseball game something he loved from his younger years when he played semi pro ball. Cliff was a devoted husband and father never neglecting a special event, birthday or occasion. He was a friend to many and was always positive preferring to see the best side of anything. A good listener and never one to judge he will be sadly missed but fondly remembered in many ways. Besides his loving wife Cliff is survived by his five children and their spouses, James Gordon and Jayda of Calgary, Don and Darcy of Edmonton, Shelley Marie and Rudy of Edmonton, Judy Lynn of Calgary, and Gary Clifford of Victoria; eleven grandchildren, David, Danielle, Tala, Shivon, Kerstyn, Nicole, Jacqueline, Thomas, Christopher, Chantal, and Stephanie; as well as his brother and sister-in-law Harvey and Margaret of Vancouver. Cliff was predeceased by his father Thomas in 1993 and his mother Pearl in 1994.
