Obituary of Dorothy Rook

ROOK – Dorothy Maida 1912 – 2006 Maida Rook of Calgary, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2006, at the age of 93 years. Maida was a very active and caring person who loved life, young people and adventure, especially hiking in the mountains. She was an icon of “good taste” which showed in her home and her fashion sense. In her early life Maida enjoyed her career as a nurse. She enjoyed her family, volunteering at Central United Church and time with her bridge and sewing clubs. She will also be remembered for her knitting and baking, which she gave away. Maida is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Susan and Dave Teece of Victoria, BC; two grandchildren, Heather and Tiffany; two brothers Dr. Spencer (Toni) Lea of Calgary and Alf Lea of North Vancouver. She was predeceased by her husband Bill. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY”S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Ward Presider. Family Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
