Obituary of John Richardson

Reverend John Herbert Richardson passed away suddenly at the Foothills Hospital on Friday January 20, 2006 at the age of 81 years. John will be dearly missed. He is survived by his ever loving wife Elaine, his five sons and their respective spouses; Gordon & Janet, David & Sheila, Robert & Christine, Shane & Milagros, and Christopher as well as his grandchildren Laura, Brett, Stefan, Cory, Kayla, Andrew and Alexander, his sister Jeane Archer, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. John was born on February 6, 1924 in Toronto. After serving overseas in the RCAF, he returned to the University of Toronto where he earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Divinity. After graduating, John was a minister in the United Church in various locations around Southern Ontario and Quebec. Upon leaving the ministry he lived in Montreal before moving to Calgary. John has been heavily involved in the Masons and especially the Shriners where he held senior positions.
