Obituary of Borden McLeod

MCLEOD – Borden Farley 1942- 2006 The family of Borden McLeod of Calgary is saddened to announce Borden’s passing on January 14, 2006. Borden was a graduate of the University of Sask. (BA), University of Calgary (BEd), and University of Alberta (MEd). He retired from SAIT Polytechnic in 2003 after a thirty-three year career as a communications instructor and curriculum designer, never having had “two bad days in a row”. Through his extensive travels, his participation in SAIT overseas projects and his participation as homestay host for international students, he established many friendships world-wide. Borden loved the outdoors and his happiest moments were hiking and camping in the Rocky Mountains. A life-long golfer, he experienced great satisfaction introducing newcomers to the game. Borden also enjoyed gardening, Flames hockey and all kinds of music. Mourning his death are his wife Patricia; his son Andrew; his “Russian daughter” Alla and her husband Ryan McPherson; brother Ross; niece Heather; nephews Kevin, Donald and Rick; Margaret the cat; cousins and friends as well as extended family Mike, Cynthia, Rebecca, Jessica, Billy and Jamie Smyth. A Celebration of Borden’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. Scattering his ashes will follow at a later date.
