Obituary of Isabella Milliken

Isabella Milliken of Calgary passed away on Friday, January 13, 2006 at the age of 100 years. Isabella grew up in the school for the deaf and blind in Lisburn Road, Belfast, Ireland where she also met and married her husband Walter. It was here that Isabella devoted her life to helping the deaf throughout her life. She joined her family in Canada in 1982 and will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who especially loved children. Isabella celebrated her one hundredth birthday in February of 2005. Isabella is survived by her children and their spouses, Edmund and Eleanor Milliken, Samuel and Jean Milliken, Jean and Samuel Thompson, Edwin Milliken, and Isobel Milliken, all of Calgary; and Norman and Arleen Milliken of Edmonton; her seventeen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; for whom she had a tenacious love. As well as numerous other relatives in Ireland, England and Canada. She was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1976, her daughter Emily in 1984 and son Harry in 2000.
