Obituary of Edna E. Vikre

Edna Vikre (nee McKenzie) of Calgary passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at the age of 94 years. Edna was born on November 4, 1911 in Fleet, AB. She taught school at various locations throughout East Central Alberta where she touched the lives of many people. Edna maintained these friendships until the time of her passing. Since coming to Calgary in 1971, she has been a faithful member of Southwood United Church and was a charter member of the Southwood Seniors Club. Edna is survived by sister Lea Wetter and sister-in-law Ada McKenzie, both of Fleet, AB; step-daughter Donna Haw of Ontario; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families in Canada, U.S.A., England, and Northern Ireland. She was predeceased by her husband France in 1970; brothers, Alexander and Robert; and sisters, Alice, Mabel and Janet. Funeral Services will be held at Southwood United Church (10690 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Donald C. MacMahon officiating.
