Obituary of Brittany Bearspaw

Brittany Bearspaw of Morley passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2006, at the age of 16 years. Brittany will be lovingly remembered for her great sense of humour, her love for the pow-wow trail and listening to her favourite pow-wow music from the Northern Cree Singers and Whitefish Jrs. She was a good friend to her peers. Brittany was proud to be from Morley and Siksika Nation. She liked travelling to pow-wows, eating Spitz, Vietnamese food and visiting with her family in both Morley and Siksika. She will be missed and remembered as a shy, always sweet, adorable, kind person with an outgoing personality. Brittany will be sadly missed by members of her family and relatives from Siksika Nation. She is survived by father Quinton Scalplock (Harriet); grandparents, Mildred (Greg) Scalplock and Delbert (Sandra) Scalplock; aunts Mardi Scalplock; uncles, Dallas (Stephanie) Scalplock, Duffy (Tannis) Scalplock; great-grandfathers, Edward Calf Robe and Robert Brass; great-grandmother Marie Calf Robe; great aunts Tina (Rudy) Healy, Shirley Spotted Eagle, Rosie (Malcolm) Spotted Eagle, Roberta (Dino) Olds, Janice (Larry) Grey Eyes, Francine (Tony) Brass, Vivian (Jay) Many Bears, Stella (Robert) Brass, Linda (Fred) Backfat, and Dale Hinves; great uncles Darcy (Rennie) Spotted Eagle, Jason (Trisha) Spotted Eagle, Adam (Carla) Spotted Eagle, Noran (Florine) Calf Robe, Eddie (Zena) Calf Robe, Frank Brass, Peter Brass, Kevin Brass, Randy (Caroline) Spring Chief, and Colin Spring Chief; great-great aunts Ruth (Francis) Scalplock, Ruth (Wally) Majoris, and Evelyn Weasel Head; great-great uncles Irvin Brass, Allan (Virginia) Medicine Traveller. Brittany will be sadly missed by her loving cousins Phoenix Running Rabbit and Lillian Wolfleg; as well as her extended family. Wake Services will be held at the residence of Geraldine Bearspaw (Morley, AB) today, January 6, 2006 and Friday, January 7, 2006. Funeral Service will be celebrated at the Morley United Church (Morley, AB) on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Bearspaw Cemetery (Morley, AB).
