Obituary of James Kirkwood
KIRKWOOD – James Victor (Jim)
1917 – 2006
James Victor Kirkwood (Jim), beloved husband of Elsie Kirkwood of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at the age of 88 years.
Jim was born May 24, 1917 in Saskatoon, SK. but was raised and educated in Calgary. Jim served with the R.C.A.F. in WWII. Following the war, Jim started work with Industrial Road and Equipment and then in later years he started his own successful business. Jim enjoyed all sports, especially playing hockey and lacrosse.
Besides his loving wife Elsie, Jim is remembered by his daughter Marianne; son and daughter-in-law Dale and Heather; one grandson, Justin; his brother Bill and several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his sister Betty.
A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
