Obituary of Theresa Mary Aboussafy

Theresa Aboussafy, beloved wife of Edmund Aboussafy of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2006 at the age of 73 years, after a brief illness at the Foothills Medical Centre. Theresa was born in Calgary on April 5, 1932. She attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and St. Mary’s Girls High School. Theresa and Edmund were married on June 21, 1958 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, CWL, Legion of Mary, and the Holy Name Catholic Church Pastoral Care. Theresa was a keen gardener, enjoyed her home, was an avid reader and photographer, as well as a supporter of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and the Calgary Opera. Theresa is survived by her husband Edmund; sister May; brother Edmund (Elaine); sisters-in-law, Louise Aboussafy and Betty Brackenbury; nieces, Ellen, Laura, Leah (Les) Minter; nephews, David (Debbie), Jim (Mary) of Victoria, BC and Peter; great-nieces and nephews; and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Algernon and Ellen May (Nellie) Brackenbury; brothers, Joe (Eva), Charles, Jack (Mary, Dolly), and Vern (Betty); and sister Beulah. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at Holy Name Catholic Church (2223 – 34th Street S.W.) on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church (2223 – 34th Street S.W.) on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev.
