Obituary of Douglas Bell

Douglas Stewart Bell of Calgary, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2005 at the age of 87 years. Doug was born in Medicine Hat, AB on May 7, 1918. He served in the Second World War as a navigator in the RCAF. Doug returned to study Commerce at University of Alberta and Queen’s University. He received 2 gold medals at these universities for his proficiency. Doug loved music, was a good pianist and played by ear. He had a lively, dry wit and an infectious laugh. Doug is survived by his daughter, Mary A. Gabrielson and son, John Bell, both of Calgary; two sisters, Aileen of Calgary and Hazel Mary of Surrey, BC; two nieces, Anne in Victoria, BC and Julie in Claresholm, AB; and by several cousins. He will be sadly missed by his dear friends Mary Brittan, and John Trimble and family. Doug is predeceased by his wife, Marge; his parents, Margaret (Stewart) Bell Richardson and Morley Leslie Bell.
