Obituary of Ronald Munro Helmer

Ronald Munro Helmer, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2005. Ronald is lovingly remembered by his wife Jean, daughter Vanessa, and two sons Douglas and Geoffery. Ron was predeceased by his brothers, Lloyd and Robert, and parents Robert “Rosie” and Stella. A lifelong Calgarian, Ron grew up in the southwest community of Scarborough. He attended Sunalta Elementary, Central High School, and the University of Alberta. Over his lifetime, Ron traveled extensively throughout every continent on the globe and wrote detailed, humorous accounts of his journeys and adventures. A gathering for friends and family in honour of Ron’s life will be held at McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, January 12, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. Those unable to attend the gathering may email their remembrances of Ron to ron@worldlyguy.com.
