Obituary of James Steedman
James “Bud” Steedman, beloved husband of Shirley, of Calgary, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2005 at the age of 77 years.
Bud was born on December 17, 1928 in Calgary, AB. He married Shirley Shields in 1948. Bud purchased Roberts & Spence’s Shoes along with his business partner James Rankin in 1961. Over the years, the business grew to ten stores throughout Calgary. In 1981, Bud decided to sell the business and enjoy his retirement. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed playing the Stock Market. For thirty years, Bud and Shirley wintered in Hawaii. Bud was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandpa.
Besides his loving wife Shirley, Bud is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law Jo-Ann Allan and Mike Harris, of Kimberley, BC, and Karen and Stephen Pynn, of Calgary, AB; his son and daughter-in-law Donald and Janice Steedman, of Canmore, AB; seven grand children, Peer, Fynn, Kelsey, Zak, Alex, Jordan and Adan; as well as two great-grandchildren Quinn and Cate. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Steedman and his companion Sue; and sister-in-law Winn Steedman. Bud was predeceased by his brother Ian Steedman; and his son Jim Steedman.
