Obituary of Carol-Ann Kathleen Bednarz

Carol Ann Kathleen Bednarz of Calgary, beloved partner for thirty two years of Gail Koeller, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 18, 2005 after a short courageous battle with cancer at the age of 54 years. Carol was born in Nordegg, AB on May 5, 1951 and raised in Rocky Mountain House. Carol moved to Calgary in 1969 where she started her career in the food industry, the majority of which was spent with Rich Products of Canada. Carol considered Rich’s a part of her family. Carol will be remembered for her strength, love and kindness. She seemed to anticipate what others needed and it delighted her to meet those needs. Carol was genuinely loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed gardening and watching her favourite sport, hockey, most especially the Calgary Flames but her greatest love and passion was her family, most precious of all her grandson Ty Koeller. Besides Gail, Carol is survived by a daughter Tara and son-in-law Jay Steiestol; a son Sean Koeller; two grandchildren Ty Koeller and Jason Steiestol; her mother Angelina Bednarz; two brothers John (Judy) Bednarz, and their son Aaron (Sonia), and Dennis Bednarz. On Gail’s side of the family she is survived by Fern (Darcy) Yerex, John (Janet) Bollinger, Rod Bollinger, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom adored her. Carol was predeceased by her father John Bednarz in 2003 and her sister-in-law Peggy Bollinger in 2003. A Memorial Reception will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
