Obituary of William Mark Edwards

William (Bill) Mark Edwards of Calgary passed away suddenly on December 12, 2005, due to a heart condition at the age of 54 years. Bill was born on February 12, 1951 in Hanna, AB. He was a beautiful blue-eyed, blonde-haired baby with an infectious personality. He completed all of his formal schooling in Calgary and graduated from Western Canada High School. He went on to a career in the finance and banking industry for a few years. He loved to travel and spent time working in Russia, the UK, and the far North of Canada. He then wanted something more out of his life, and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Saint Mary’s University. This was the beginning of a successful career for him in the oil and gas industry as a well site geologist. Bill was a very dedicated and knowledgeable employee and extremely well liked by the people that worked with him. At the time of his death, he was finishing up on a well in Saskatchewan and was planning to be home for Christmas. Bill was a kind, caring and sensitive person. He liked to help people that were down and out, and did what he could to make their lives a little easier. Bill was also a very proud father and spoke often of his four children and loved them all very much. He was very proud of the accomplishments in their lives and had all of their pictures displayed on the walls of his home. Bill is lovingly remembered by his parents Margaret and Maurice Edwards of Calgary; his four children, Jaclyn, Kimberly, Jamey of New Brunswick, and Jessica of Calgary; two brothers, Kim (Jan) Edwards and Maury Edwards; two sisters, Lori (Cal) Wakelam and Julie (Scott) McDougall; his nieces and nephews, Chris, Tammy and Lindsay Edwards; Tara, Ryan and Julie Wakelam; Connor and Brooklyn McDougall; and his great-niece Storm Edwards; all of Calgary.
