Obituary of Big Plume

Louise Mary Big Plume (nee Bull Collar), mother, sister, Gran (ISUU), and friend, has been returned home to Heaven on Friday, December 9, 2005 at the age of 91 years. Louise was born on February 7, 1914. She was a caring, loving, gifted, strong-willed woman, an all-around beautiful woman. Her life was full of precious memories and moments. Thus we are left being the world’s richest family with her strength that touched the hearts of each and everyone who had met with her special words of wisdom and gentle understanding. She was an angel that gave wisdom and direction by sharing the history of her life. She also loved unconditionally. Louise was involved with the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede from 1932 until the present. She was also a board member of the First Calgary Native Friendship Centre, Sheriff King Homes, and Girl Guides of Canada. Louise is survived by her children, Clifford (Vanora) Big Plume, Carl (Wilma) Big Plume, Barbara Otter, Marie (Winston) Wadsworth, Victoria (Billy) Jacobs, Theresa Big Plume, and Margaret Big Plume; twenty-nine grandchildren; ninety-one great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren, adopted sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and numerous friends and relatives from Rocky Boy, MT, Hobbema, AB and Tsuu T’ina . Louise will be treasured in the hearts of her family and friends forever. She was predeceased by her parents Isabel and Leo Duran of Rocky Boy, MT; her adopted parents Mary and John Bull Collar; her husband Stanley Big Plume in 1984; her twin brother Leo Duran in 2000; her children Lillian, Pearl, and Barry; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her adopted sisters and brothers. Wake Services will be held at the residence of the late Louise Big Plume (Tsuu T’ina Nation) on Monday, December 12, 2005. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church (Tsuu T’ina Nation) on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at the Tsuu T’ina Cemetery.
