Obituary of Charles Derek Gould

The members of the Gould family are sad to announce the passing of “Pops”, Derry Gould of Calgary on Tuesday, December 6, 2005. The youngest of three children, Derry was born in Senlac, SK on August 31, 1927 to Charles Edwin Gould and Eva Gould (nee Smith). He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Geological Engineering and enjoyed a lengthy career in the oil industry in Saskatchewan and Alberta. During his retirement, he became an avid cyclist, golfer and genealogist. Derry will be fondly remembered by his wife of fifty-three years, Shirley Gould (nee Colpitts); sister Dulce Gould of Victoria, B.C.; daughter Sherri (Pat) McAndless and their children, Kali and Taylor of Richmond, B.C.; son Glenn (Gillian) and their children, Connor, Bailey, Lara and Emily of Springbank, AB; son Tom (Cathie) and their children, Megan, Kimberly, Lindsay, Rebecca and Michael of Calgary; son Pat (Jodi) and their children, Mackenzie, Carly, Christie and Andie of Springbank, AB; son Jeffrey of Moose Jaw, SK; and his many friends from the Glencoe Club, the Glencoe Golf and Country Club, the oil patch, Windermere Lake, his hiking group, and Riverstone. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Claire Bridgman.
