Obituary of Gustav Eisworth

Gustav John Eisworth of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at the age of 88 years. Gus was born on May 12, 1917 in Holdfast, SK. He was the fifth of eight children. Gus became the youngest Safeway store manager in North America at the young age of twenty one. Gus also served during World War II in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was an avid golfer and very proud of his Hole in One. He was a member of the Chinook Lions Club were he served as President for many years. He loved playing his harmonica and was an extremely proficient player, winning numerous contests. He loved entertaining, playing crib and being surrounded by his friends. Gus will be sadly missed by his children, Charlotte (John), Roger (Gloria), Grant (Bonnie), and Vic; his eight grandchildren Annette (Phil), Donna (Ron), Carolyn (Randy), Cory (Shawna), Daniel, Paige, Chelle (Brad) and Tessa, eight great-grandchildren Jacki (Jesse), Chris (Doli), Michael, Bradley, Scott, Stephen, Jake and Jenna; brother Al (Chris); sister Aggie (John) and all that he touched. Gus was predeceased by his wife Cecilia, two brothers Joe and Peter, and three sisters, Vera, Josie and Evea. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all.
