Obituary of Alan Corbiell
Alan Paul Corbiell, beloved husband of Sharon and loving father of Reilly and Lauren of Calgary, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2005, at the age of 45 years.
Alan was born on June 18, 1960 in Calgary and was raised on the family farm in Cluny AB. He completed high school in Cluny, then attended S.A.I.T. Al worked for twenty-one years in the natural gas industry. He was an avid golfer, curler, hockey player and fan, a great experimental chef, and rocket hobbyist. He will be lovingly remembered as a great Dad, for his sense of humor, wit and charm, and as a Master of the pun. Besides his loving wife and children, Al is survived by his parents, Damien and May Corbiell, brother Barry (Lindsay) Corbiell, sister Heather (Bruce) Johansen, mother-in-law Philomene O’Reilly, sister-in-law Maureen (Greg) McBratney and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Al was predeceased by his father-in-law Ed O’Reilly.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Thursday, December 8, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Mr. Michael Soentgerath officiating. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church (7103 – 20A Street S.E.) on Friday, December 9, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev.
