Obituary of JoAnne Marie Manywounds

JoAnne Marie Manywounds of Tsuu Tina Nation passed away on Friday, December 2, 2005 at the age of 51 years. JoAnne is survived by her three daughters, Shasta, Jori-Lynne and Joelle; five grandchildren, Bison, Christian, Cassidy, Tristen, and Taelor; brothers and sisters, Laura (Carl), Jim, Terry (Guy), Peter (Viola), Dean (Holly), and Lesley (Jake); aunts and uncles, Muriel Manywounds, Maria and Gordon Crowchild, Leonard (Anne Marie) Good Eagle, Loretta and Frances Manywounds, and Lottie and John Manywounds; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many relatives from Tsuu T’ina, Siksika and Nakota Nations. JoAnne was predeceased by her son Shilo Joel; parents, Amos and Rose; grandparents, Annie and Peter Manywounds and Laura and Joseph Good Eagle; sisters, Roselyn and Pam; brother Vernon; nephew Jody; and uncles, Peter and Sam Manywounds. JoAnne will be sorely missed by all who knew her. The family apologizes if they have missed anyone. JoAnne loved rodeos, music, and meeting new and exciting people. She was full of laughter, joking and enjoyed the company of her friends. A Traditional Feast for relatives and friends will be held at the residence of Laura Manywounds (JoAnne’s sister) on Tsuu T’ina Nation on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held at the residence of Laura Manywounds (Tsuu T’ina Nation, AB) on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church (3700 Anderson Road S.W., Calgary, AB) on Thursday, December 8, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Tsuu T’ina Cemetery.
