Obituary of Erna Lehmann

Erna Lehmann passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 4, 2005 at the age of 88 years. Erna was born on April 25, 1917 to Mr. and Mrs Steuer in Russia, the third oldest member of a family of two brothers and three sisters. She married Ernst Deikes in Germany and had two children. Erna came to Canada in 1965 joining her sister and brother-in-law Meta, and Otto Fritz in Lethbridge, AB. She married a second time to John Lehmann, and enjoyed a period of time in Kelowna, BC. She returned to Alberta, settling in Calgary. Erna attended church faithfully through her tumultuous life, in Calgary at Thornhill Baptist Church and had an undying trust in the Lord. Erna is survived by one brother Ervin Steuer; niece Marlies; two nephews Heinz and Dieter in Germany; and one sister and brother-in-law Meta and Otto Fritz of Lethbridge, AB; three nieces Doris, Sigrid, and Karol; and a nephew Alvin, all of Alberta. She was predeceased by her first husband, Ernst Deikes; and two children Zieglinde and Ziegfried; and her second husband John Lehmann. Funeral Services will be held at Thornhill Baptist Church (128 Tache Avenue N.W.) on Thursday, December 8, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Ken Vander Meulen, Presider.
