Obituary of Kathleen Cotter
Kay Cotter, beloved wife of L.K. (Buzz) Cotter of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at the age of 84 years.
Kay was born on August 2, 1921 in Wainwright, and was raised there as part of a large and loving family. She graduated from the Toronto General Hospital as a nurse in 1943. She returned to Alberta where she nursed in various locations and met her husband while nursing in Viking. Buzz and Kay were married on November 5, 1948. They recently celebrated their fifty-seventh wedding anniversary. During their married life they resided in many small towns in Alberta, raising their family in Red Deer and moving to Calgary in 1967.
Besides her loving husband Buzz, Kay is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Colleen and Mac Hann and Sharon and Jim Mansfield, all of Calgary; her son and daughter-in-law Terry and Stephanie Cotter of Geraldton, West Australia; five grandchildren, Derek Hann, Lindsay Hann, Todd Mansfield, Ryan Mansfield, and Shannon Mansfield; a brother Don Rutherford of Abbotsford, BC; two sisters, Pat Sheets of Wainwright, AB, and Shirley (Ted) Fladager of Penticton, BC; sisters-in-law, Ada Rutherford of Edmonton, Adelle Jones of Edmonton, Jean Cotter of Parksville, BC; brother-in-law Jay Cotter of Red Deer, AB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Kay was predeceased by her siblings, Joe, Dot, Alan, Jean, and Stan.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Monday, December 5, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
