Obituary of Gilbert Winters

It is with fond memories that the family of Gilbert (Gil) Winters, wish to announce the passing of our beloved Gil on November 25, 2005. Gil will be dearly missed by his mother Joyce Leitch (Devon, AB); loving wife Laura; children, Brad (Julia); Bryan (Kristina); TJ (Jenn), and cherished Papa of Ryley, Carmen, Makayla, Tyler, Bailey, Sydney, and Austin. Gil will also be missed by his loving siblings, Vicki Richardson, Lynn (Jerry) Huck, Rod Winters and Val (Bruce) Borchert, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many, good friends. Gil will also be missed by his father and mother in law, Clarence and Lucy Wright; his special sister-in-law Roxanne and partner John; and by his best friend Magoo. Gil was predeceased by his father Dale Winters in 1957; his stepfather Earl Leitch in 1963 and his brother-in-law Ken Richardson in 2002. At Gil’s request, In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made directly to the children’s charity of the donor’s choice. Laura and the family would like to extend their special thanks for the loving care that Gil received from Dr. C. Heaton, Dr. Chan, Dr. Smith and the staff at the Foothills Hospital. A celebration of Gil’s life will take place at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. A Private Family Graveside service will be held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens at a later date.
