Obituary of Linda L. Bearshirt
Linda L. Bearshirt of Siksika Nation, AB passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 23, 2005 after a sudden illness at the age of 51 years.
Linda was known for her sense of humour and kindness, as well as her passion for pow-wow. Linda Bearshirt is survived by her husband, J. Bernard Bearshirt; children, Josie Alexis (Sterling), Marie Lefthand (Steven), Tammy Alexis (Jessie), Robin Alexis Bearshirt (Colin), Lori A. Red Crow (Max), Sheldon J. Bearshirt, Tamara Alexis Bearshirt; stepchildren Jorden Bearshirt, Sharron Bearshirt, Gordon F. Bull, Blair Buffalo, and Leroy Bull; traditional adopted children Sherry Three Suns, Jocko McHugh, Jade McHugh and Amanda Many Heads; and numerous beloved grandchildren, especially her grandson who she cherished and helped raise, Cashus Justice Red Crow. She is also survived by her sisters Martha Willliar and Leona Williar; and brother Joseph Williar, all of Driftpile, AB; Sister Jean Alexis; brothers Billy Potts, Roderick Alexis; and numerous nieces and nephews. Linda will be sadly missed by her extended family of the Many Shots, the Sun Walks, and Gertrude Turning Robe and family. Linda was originally from Driftpile, and was adopted into the Alexis Nation. She is survived by her adopted mother Pauline Laplante; brother Calvin Laplante; sisters Wendy Pearson and Evett Myers. Linda was predeceased by her mother Emily Williar; adopted parents Edward and Elizabeth Alexis; mother and father-in-law Helena and James Bearshirt; traditional son Aaron Medicine Shield; grandson Roland Jack Alexis; and sister Lori Williar.
Wake Services will be held at Sister Celine Memorial Parish Hall (Siksika Nation, AB) on Sunday, November 27, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (Siksika Nation, AB) on Monday, November 28, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev.
