Obituary of Margaret Frances Brown

Marg passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at the young at heart age of 78 years. Marg was born in Winnipeg, MB on August 18, 1927. She married Jack Brown on August 26, 1949 and they moved from Winnipeg relocating to Burnaby and then to Calgary where the family resided until 1971. They then relocated to Medicine Hat, AB where she was predeceased by her loving husband, Jack Jacob in 1978. She then moved back to Calgary in 1983 to be closer to her family. Marg gave of herself many hours of volunteer work that she loved to the Theatre of Calgary, Mount Royal College’s Transitional Vocational Program and Missing Children’s Society, to mention a few. Marg worked as an executive secretary in various positions beginning her career in Winnipeg and continuing in Calgary at Lord Beaverbrook High School, the Workers Compensation Board, Canadian Fertilizers Limited and City of Medicine Hat Police department. Marg will be lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and Bill Jorra, and her son Grant, all of Calgary; her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Carolyn of Australia; her grandchildren, Ryan Jorra of Calgary, Julia, Cassie, Jack and Caroline; great grandchildren, Abbey and Millie all of Tasmania, Australia. She is also survived by her brothers, Walter (Josie) of Regina, Stan (Thelma) of Winnipeg, Laurie (Maureen) of Chicago and Jerry of Winnipeg; sisters, Millie (Ed) Tinkler of Winnipeg and Evelyn Woods of Port Moody, BC; as well as many wonderful supportive in-laws, nieces and nephews.
