Obituary of Katherine Bereta

Katherine (Kasia) Bereta, beloved wife of Jozeph, of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at the age of 80 years. Katherine was born on September 18, 1925 in Horyniec Zdroj, Poland. She made the choice to come to Canada in 1948 after WWII. Katherine met Jozeph at the Polish Community Hall in Calgary. She resided in Calgary for fifty-five years. Katherine was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and friend, she had a keen sense of humour and a friendly nature. Katherine was a long-time member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Polish Church and the Polish-Canadian Club. Besides her loving husband, Katherine will be dearly missed by her children Donna, Helen, Ted (Lorraine), and her grandchildren Mel and Jesse. She will also be remembered by her three brothers and all her extended family in Poland. Katherine was predeceased by her sister Antonina; and her brother Andrzej. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her. “Mamusia, you always made people feel comfortable and appreciated.
