Obituary of Hilda Flemmer

Hilda Flemmer of Calgary passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at the age of 94 years. Hilda was born on July 3, 1911 Happyland, SK. She married Paul Flemmer in 1931 and began their lives together on a farm in the Mendham district. In 1947 they moved to Medicine Hat, AB and in 1950 following the sudden passing of Paul, Hilda dedicated herself to her children. She loved to garden and enjoyed crocheting. Hilda also loved to cook, especially dough meals. She always made sure no one left her home without having something to eat. In 1995 Hilda moved into Chinook Village in Medicine Hat, where she enjoyed socializing with others. In 2003 Hilda came to Calgary to be nearer to her family where she resided at Whitehorn Village. Hilda loved to play Bingo with her new found friends. She will be greatly missed by her family but will be remembered often for her wonderful smile and laughter. Hilda was survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Janet (Mel) Sailer, Loreen (Richard) Frank, and Velma Rainey; and one daughter-in-law Doreen Flemmer, all of Calgary; her special caregivers and grandchildren Terry Sailer and Shauna (Kevin) Sailer-Keen; as well as eleven other grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Tillie Hubele, Freida (Ray) Eberhardt, Kay (Chester) Neilson, and Violet (Lawrence) Leipert; one sister-in-law Tillie Siewert; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Hilda was predeceased by her husband Paul; her son Harold; son-in-law Ivan Rainey; sister Elsie Jassman; four brothers, Fred, Henry, Jake, and Alvin Siewert.
