Obituary of Rose Marie Dumontier
Rose Marie (Chabot) Dumontier passed away Friday, November 18, 2005, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Rose Marie was born in great Falls, MT on January 17, 1950. She grew up in Martin City, MT and graduated from Columbia Falls High School. Rose Marie attended the University of Great Falls, graduating in 1972. She went on to teach in Bismarck, ND at St. Mary’s Grade School. Rose Marie returned to Great Falls and lived there until 1988 when she married Gerald R. Dumontier. They established a household in Calgary where they have resided since.
Rose Marie was active in the community, volunteering in various schools, in her parish, and with the St. Vincent De Paul Society. She was very interested in genealogy, tracing her family history in Canada and the US. Rose Marie and Gerald enjoyed history and travelling to many different places. Her family was the center of her life and her greatest pleasure. Her career included work in the Diocese Tribunal Offices in both Great Falls, MT and Calgary.
Rose Marie is survived by her husband Gerald; and two children, Mark (fourteen) and Emily (nine). She was overjoyed when Mark was born, and the family was completed with the adoption of Emily from China in 1997. Rose Marie is also survived by her brother, Dennis Chabot of Malin, OR; and his twin sister, Donna Griffus of Diamond Lake, WA. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alcide and Irene (Morrissette) Chabot.
Rose Marie will be remembered for her kind heart. She never had an unkind word or harsh thought and everyone she knew was affected by her genuine goodness.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (5552 Madigan Drive N.E.) on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
