Obituary of Doris Matheson

Doris Matheson passed away peacefully at on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at the age of 79 years, after a year and a half battle with cancer. Doris was born in Mellville, SK and spent time in Vancouver before she and Rod settled in Calgary over 40 years ago. She was a giving person and over the years she volunteered for organizations such as Meals on Wheels, the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stoke Foundation. Doris was also happy to be a member and volunteer with St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed painting, spending time with friends, skating with her group and relaxing at the cabin. Doris savoured life’s moments. Doris is lovingly remembered by her family: her children Colleen, Ken, Catherine, Stewart, Trish and Tracey; her son and daughter-in-laws: Hugh MacDonald, Kathy Matheson, Bill Campbell and Dave Dyer; her grandchildren: Mark, Jeff, Rory, Lanny, Cameron and Caitlin; and her brother Frank. Doris was predeceased by her husband Rod, after sharing 49 years of marriage, and her brothers Bill and Bob.
