Obituary of De Paoli

Fern De Paoli of Calgary, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2005 at the age of 79 years. Fern was born August 18, 1926 in Montreal, QC to James and Mable Douglas (nee Hodgson) and moved to Calgary in 1951 where she worked in the Oil & Gas Industry. Fern was on the Board of the Reform Party, Calgary Southwest Riding and supported many organizations such as the Calgary Foundation and Fort Calgary. Fern was actively involved with Meals on Wheels for over twenty years and volunteered at the Food Bank. She was an active member of the Calgary Opera Association. Fern sponsored foster children through Foster Parents Plan World Vision. She enjoyed forty-two years of winters in Longboat Key, Florida. Fern is survived by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mel and Bev De Paoli of Cayley, AB; three nieces and a nephew, Sylvia and Gino De Paoli and Amy and Melissa De Paoli; six cousins Douglas Paterson of Georgeville, QC, Ross Paterson of Lachine, QC, Jean Stewart of Ottawa, ON, Lois Horrocks of Qualicum Beach, BC, Blair Douglas of Toronto, ON, and Glenn Douglas of Petawawa, ON, as well as other relatives and many close friends throughout North America and Italy. Fern was predeceased by her husband Enso De Paoli in 1992. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, November 17, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 – 24th Street S.W.) on Friday, November 18, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev.
